HUD's current requirements for FHA-insured reverse mortgages (HECM), origination through post-closing and endorsement: counseling, borrower and property eligibility, the principal limit and payment plans, the financial assessment, closing and the mortgage insurance premium. Not law: 24 CFR Part 206 carries the rules and this states the program as HUD applies them. It replaces the 1994 Handbook 4235.1 as the statement of current HECM origination policy.

Why the wording is not on this page
This is a US government work, free to quote and cite. The corpus reads it page by page from the official copy, and a citation names a page of it, so this page says what the document is, which edition it is, and links that copy.
How a question cites it
A citation to this document carries the page number, an exact quote, and the anchor of the page it is on, which counts the pages of the file and not the numbers printed on them. You can check every claim against the copy linked above.
